Lidl wanted to position itself as the easiest choice for summer groceries — with affordable prices, curated selection and convenient shopping. But in Finland, summer is sacred: just a few short weeks we all want to enjoy to the fullest. Anything that interrupts that holiday ease feels like pure horror. So instead of talking about ourselves, we borrowed the language of classic horror films — from Jaws to The Birds — to dramatize the terrifying obstacles of summer. Lidl became the one thing you can always count on to keep life easy.
