Creative idea
The UNICEF Unlockers project aimed to raise awareness of adolescents' mental health issues in Slovenia, where one in four faces struggles like anxiety, depression, or trauma. Despite its prevalence, what is happening inside youngsters is often overlooked by parents, educators, and policymakers. The installation, placed in front of the national parliament, used school lockers to represent the hidden struggles of youth, creating an emotional connection with the public. UNICEF Unlockers effectively sparked national conversations, generating widespread media coverage and public engagement. It also influenced policymakers, leading to commitments to integrate mental health education into schools.
