Over 600 million animals worldwide are stray, animal shelters struggle to address this, especially post-holidays when many gifted pets are abandoned. While all Christmas campaigns announced a time for desired gifts, we declared that a pet is not a gift. Our animated campaign challenges the myth of a 'happy ending' where a pet becomes a cherished family member. Instead, we depicted the grim reality many gifted animals face—fear, loneliness, abandonment. The story shifts from a cheerful holiday scene to a dark, cold nightmare, illustrating the fate of millions of pets. We conveyed this visual drama through contrasting color schemes between the two sides of the story and associative montage.
