The Czech Insurance Association introduced a new national holiday aimed at reducing speeding accidents. The National Delay Day encouraged both individuals and commercial subjects to slow down by delaying real-life events such as the Prague Astronomical Clock show, the National Football Cup semi-finals, theater plays or university classes. Over 30 companies participated by postponing schedules, creating slow-down promotions and sharing the message on social media. The event gained coverage resulting in earned media worth 10 million EUR, delivering the message “Slow down before it's truly late” to 75% of the population. Result? 10% drop in speeding accidents.
