The Last School Trip
Creative idea
In response to thousands of Hungarian teachers being forced to leave their profession due to an unjust educational system, Radnóti, an independent Budapest theater, premiered a play telling the story of a teacher losing everything. For one night, the play received an alternate ending. Dismissed teachers were invited to watch, unaware that their former students made up the rest of the audience. The night concluded with a surprise serenade from the students, traditionally a farewell honor for teachers at graduation. This powerful gesture not only highlighted enduring teacher-student bonds but also garnered national media attention.
