Currently, Collette Wasielewski is one of a multi-talented team of Creative Directors at FCB Johannesburg. She cut her branding teeth at Enterprise IG (now Brand Union) where she was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to rebrand the Nigerian banking giant GTBank.
In the following 12 years and 4 agencies, she worked on and learned from brands such as Virgin Mobile, Coca-Cola, Converse, Toyota, Vodacom, South African Tourism, Brand South Africa, Nando’s and 46664 apparel amongst many others – winning a few awards along the way.
In 2011 she was approached by FCB South Africa to help build their design capability. Within 2 years they were awarded at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Loeries, Clios and the New York Festivals and her talented team now tackles everything from traditional corporate identity through to brand activation and rainbow creation – literally.
Professionally, Collette has served on the juries of local and international award festivals and has guest lectured in more than one country. The highlight of her career, however, has been creatively heading up the South African Tourism account at FCB, a portfolio that is very close to her heart.
In the limited spare time that serving her country affords her, she is mother to 1 human and 3 animals and wakes up everyday feeling privileged to be experiencing all the beauty and potential of South Africa and Africa right now.
