Mercator's Basket made of recycled posters

Creative idea

Mercator is a retailer focused on a sustainable future. Our challenge was how to create effective outdoor advertising that leaves no waste behind – we wanted to give a new life to the discarded advertising posters. Mercator brought together the two biggest competitors among outdoor advertising providers, and both handed over our used campaign posters to the paper experts of the Pulp and Paper Institute. From around 950 kg of poster waste we produced 3000 baskets, which could carry at least 5 kg, so they could replace a shopping bag.
