Don't Let Femicides Be Covered Up

According to annual reports of 2023, there have been 248 suspicious deaths of women. There was something wrong with these deaths with much suspicion around them. In Turkey, whenever a dead body is found in the streets, it is typically covered by placing newspapers over it, also seen in femicide cases which are covered up rapidly. On International Women's Day, BirGün Newspaper created a unique installation aiming to make the public question. “Covering up the truth” being the center of the idea, the installation consisted of a dummy covered up with newspapers, headline stating, “Don’t let femicides be covered up!” in the heart of Istanbul.
