The Golden Drum Competition 2024 is officially underway, and anticipation is at an all-time high. With the entries in, the first round of judging is just around the corner, setting the stage for an intense battle.
This year, the competition is fiercer than ever, with a nearly 10% increase in entries from last year, coming from 32 countries. Notably, Brazil, Singapore, France, and the UK are making their debut in the Game Changer Group, the only group open for entries worldwide. The growing diversity has set the stage for an even more heated contest, with the most entries coming from Ukraine, closely followed by Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Italy.
This year’s competition also sees the largest number of submissions in three sections: One-Channel, Omni-Channel, and Craft Drum, making the climb to victory even steeper. The biggest growth has been observed in the One-Channel section, where the Film stands out as this year’s most successful medium, while Print and Out of Home marked the most significant growth compared to 2023.
In terms of agency participation, there’s a nearly equal split, with 52% of the entries coming from networks, while independent agencies submit 48%.
As the competition advances, all eyes are now on our esteemed jury. With such exceptional creativity on display, the question remains—who will rise to the top?
Shortlists will be announced on 2 October at 8 AM CET. The winners will be revealed at the Awards Show on 10 October.
