With the entries system now closed, the Juries are gearing up to start judging the creative works sent from 30 different countries form around the world.
This year, the highest number of entries came from Slovakia, Romania, Italy, Ukraine and Poland.
Competiion directors, Miha Bevc and Uroš Goričan, shared their mutual excitement:
»It’s great to see that Golden Drum continues to attract strong interest from across the region once again. As one of only seven regional festivals included in the WARC Rankings, it continues to prove its place on the international creative map.
This year, entries for the main competition came from 30 countries, with Slovakia leading the way, followed by Romania, Italy, Ukraine and Poland. Independent agencies are particularly well represented this year, accounting for 51% of entries, compared to 49% from network agencies.
Now the hard part begins. More than 50 respected industry professionals from around the world will come together in our international juries. We’re really looking forward to the judging sessions, the discussions and debates, and of course, seeing which ideas will eventually take home a Drum.« - Miha Bevc, Competition Director
»Looking at this year’s entries, a few things particularly stand out.
The Omni-Channel Drum section attracted the highest number of entries, followed by the One-Channel Drum. What we find especially interesting this year is the strength of Print. It has performed remarkably well and, in terms of the number of entries, is now almost competing with Film. For us, this is a great reminder that even in an industry constantly shaped by new technologies and formats, the power of a strong idea in print remains very much alive.
Another encouraging development is the growing international reach of the Game Changer group, the only competition group open to entries from around the world. This year, for the first time, we received entries from the Netherlands, which is a small but meaningful sign of Golden Drum’s expanding reach beyond its traditional region.
We were also very pleased with the response to the new UNFPA Inclusion Excellence group. Agencies from eight different countries across the region submitted work that reflects the values of inclusion. Seeing such a broad response in the group’s first year is particularly encouraging and shows that inclusion is increasingly becoming an important part of the creative conversation across our industry.« - Uroš Goričan, Competition Director
Golden Drum remains a respected benchmark of creative excellence, recognised by leading industry platforms such as WARC Ranking, The Drum, and AdForum. Agencies from around the world continue to value its reputation, influence, and prestige.
