Immersive technologies can make distant events feel immediate, but few people will use a VR headset, install an app or download gigabytes to experience a story about war. So we brought the metaverse to devices already in their hands. Arina, a real eight-year-old dancer from Irpin, guides visitors through a virtual reconstruction of her House of Culture, destroyed during the invasion, and into its imagined future. Built in Unreal Engine and rendered remotely through Microsoft Azure GPU cloud infrastructure, the high-fidelity 3D world streamed directly to any browser, removing headsets, heavy downloads and powerful gaming hardware from immersive storytelling.
