Mastercard is a technology leader in payment protection, developing advanced fraud prevention technology. But today, scammers don’t only attach the payment. They attack the person. So, if fraud moved outside the payment system, protection had to follow. We extended Mastercard’s role from protecting transactions to protecting people. It all started with every new card. Alongside the PIN came a new security system: a Real Life Password. By turning shared memories into authentication, Mastercard introduced a new layer of protection into the customer experience, while strengthening its role in fraud prevention.
