“Stories We Carry: The Invisible Face of Obesity”

Creative idea

Obesity is a chronic, treatable disease. Film and television still call it a personal failing: only 2.8% of speaking characters live with obesity against 40% of people, and 70% of children's films carry weight-stigmatizing content. That fiction has real costs: bullying, avoided care, a society that misreads its own members. So TOAD didn't make another awareness film. It handed the camera to the people who will write tomorrow's stories — communication, fine arts and design students across Türkiye. Their films became a national competition, a red-carpet gala timed to ECO 2026 in Istanbul, and 32 million impressions of counter-narrative.
