Catch feelings for Slovenia
Creative idea
Slovenia is a small but extremely diverse country. One of its greatest charms is its extraordinary natural beauty. It is famous for its vast karst landscapes, characterized by underground rivers, caves and limestone formations. Not to forget the incredible mountain ranges. It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for hiking, mountain climbing and skiing. As I browsed both the “I Feel Slovenia” website and the media library, I was amazed by the stunning photos of nature and architecture that looked almost like beautiful paintings. “Catch feelings for Slovenia” is a series of posters designed to celebrate the breathtaking beauty of Slovenia by presenting photography in the form of an art exhibition. The series captures Slovenia's diverse landscapes, rich culture and unique charm, drawing inspiration from the country's coat of arms as the main visual motif. Each poster will be both a work of art and an invitation to fall in love with Slovenia before traveling to the country, presenting stunning photographs that tell the story of Slovenia's natural wonders and cultural heritage. The key visual of the poster series draws inspiration from Slovenia's coat of arms, which depicts a stylized representation of Mount Triglav, the country's highest peak, against a blue shield and three six-pointed gold stars above. The emblem reflects Slovenia's mountainous terrain and directly shows how nature is a huge part of the country. Using this as a reference, I designed a simplified version of the coat of arms that acts as a frame for chosen photographs. For the title, I chose something that would interact with the viewer. Therefore, it asks the question “Already caught feelings for Slovenia?”. Whether the viewer has already fallen in love with Slovenia after just looking at the poster series.
