David is a Filipino-British copywriter, and the creative chair of BBDO Guerrero, an agency he founded in 1998. His work has won Grand Prix, Golds, Silvers and Bronzes at Cannes, Clio, D&AD, the One Show, LIA, New York Festivals, Spikes, AdFest, AdStars, Kinsale, Design Week, WARC and many other shows. He enjoys work that promotes the Philippines, and has created globally viral campaigns for both the country’s tourism department, and its national airline.

Other than writing seven-word taglines, he is the author of two books. The first, “You have to go through a lot of crap to get to good ideas” won a National Book Award for Business and Humor. The second, “You Won’t See Me. When the Beatles ghosted Imelda” is published by Penguin (available on Kindle), and tells the story of the band’s visit to Manila in 1966. It’s also the subject of a BBC World Service Documentary, with a film project in the works.

He is a past jury president of Cannes Lions, and has served on many other global and local shows. He is also part of the Collective advisory board at the Asia Pacific AdFest. He was given a Lifetime Achievement award by the 4As of the Philippines.  He enjoys creative mentoring and training, and is proud that over a dozen former members of the agency are running creative departments here and around the world.
